The city was alive, but Nikki wasn’t looking at the crowd.
街は生きていた。でも日希は人混みを見ていなかった。
She stood still for a moment, watching the lights reflect off the rain-soaked streets.
彼女は立ち止まり、雨に濡れた路面に映る光を静かに見つめていた。
People rushed past her — chasing something, avoiding something, waiting for something.

Nikki smiled.

“I don’t wait,” she whispered softly.
